The DDSP OB Van is a state-of-the-art, 25-foot-long, full-height outside broadcast unit, meticulously designed to meet the demands of modern live broadcasts. The rear section of the van is thoughtfully configured for maximum efficiency, featuring dedicated camera storage, ample rack space, and a porthole for seamless integration of power, audio, video, data cables, and more.

In addition to its robust infrastructure, the van is equipped with a high-capacity battery system, ensuring uninterrupted operation during power-loss situations. This capability is further supported by an onboard generator and air conditioning system, ensuring a controlled environment for both equipment and crew. The van also serves as a counterweight for a 20-foot telescoping mast, which mounts the Starlink dish, enabling a clear view of the sky and reliable connection to the Starlink network, even in dense urban environments.

The DDSP OB Van is engineered for efficiency and flexibility, capable of powering all media production systems from a single 15-amp/120v receptacle and circuit. The air conditioning unit operates on a second 15-amp/120v circuit, while the entire van can alternatively be powered by a single 30-amp/120v receptacle. If shore power isn't available the van can also be exclusively powered by its generator.

At the heart of the van’s technology suite is a brand new vMix-based video switcher, featuring eight SDI inputs with the capacity to support eight additional cameras via NDI. Complementing this is a 3Play system capable of handling four-camera instant replay, alongside a CG station for real-time graphic overlays. The van is outfitted with nine HD cameras, additional special-use cameras, wireless transmission equipment, and a Starlink satellite internet system that provides unlimited data, ensuring seamless connectivity and broadcast quality. More cameras can be rented from our partners if needed.

DDSP’s OB Van is staffed by a highly experienced crew, with rental packages including a technical director, instant replay operator, CG operator, utility/grip, and three camera operators as standard. Depending on the complexity of the production, additional crew members can be provided to ensure flawless execution.
